Galgos are intelligent dogs and can be trained by motivating them with rewards. It is important to teach them its name and to come to the call. In general, they don't enjoy obedience or other canine skills, prefer to be walking, socialising with other dogs or people, exploring, running and, if not, sleeping!

Almost all Galgos are friendly towards other dogs and small dogs. Galgos are good with children; they possess a calm temperament so there is less risk of a child being knocked over or jumped on than with a more excitable breed.
