As of 2024, the game is still widely played and considered by many to be one of the best entries in the franchise. The game features a robust multiplayer mode with various maps, game modes, a lore-filled Special Ops mode, and a well-received single-player campaign.

For the first time in the franchise's history, it's genuinely not worth playing its campaign, which is saying something. While there's a bit of fun to be had if you enjoy mindlessly slaughtering bots, there isn't any anywhere else enjoyable in it.
