The Roulette wheel was invented by a French physicist, inventor, and mathematician named Blaise Pascal. Initially, Pascal wasn't trying to invent a casino game. In 1655, Pascal tried to invent a perpetual motion machine.

However, it's important to note that the house always has an edge in roulette, as with most casino games, to ensure that over time, the casino will make a profit. Outside of a poorly trained or bored dealer spinning the wheel and ball exactly the same, with exactly the same release, Roulette is random.
