Argentina have qualified for all 47 editions of the Copa America, however, they have opted to withdraw on four occasions in 1939, 1949, 1953 and 2001.

Uruguay and Argentina have won the most tournaments (15 wins each). Brazil is the only other country with a significant number of wins (9).
